Key Responsibilities:
Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (primarily ladder logic) for large switchgear and standby power applications (generators as primary power source).
Integrate automation solutions for complex power distribution systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, UL).
Develop and review CAD drawings for control systems and switchgear configurations.
Oversee shop floor testing (40% time) of PLC logic, switchgear, and generator controls.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize power system reliability and automation workflows.
Ensure safety protocols (PPE: safety shoes, eyewear) are followed during field and lab work.
Requirements:
Non-negotiable: 8+ years in power systems, switchgear/generators, and PLC programming (ladder logic).
Strong background in industrial automation, controls engineering, and software development for HMI/SCADA.
Proficiency in CAD tools for electrical drawings and system design.
Experience working with large-scale power systems (critical standby power applications preferred).
Ability to interpret and apply industry standards (e.g., ANSI, IEC).
Work Conditions:
60% office (design, documentation), 40% shop floor/testing.
Company-provided laptop; must supply safety gear (shoes/eyewear).
