About This Job
Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening for a Media Control Specialist at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. This position will be responsible to provide IT Media Control support for multiple enterprise networks and computing centers, assisting with tracking, lifecycle management, and distribution/destruction of all network physical media. The applicant hired will interface with various department staff as well as the customer in support of these activities.

Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Overall tracking of all physical media
  • Interfacing with the government customer and internal staff on all physical media needs (distribution, configuration control numbers, classification, etc.)
  • Tracking/monitoring of data devices
  • Documenting transfer and perform quality assurance for all items transferred
  • Initiating and maintaining operations records/logs as required
  • Establishing and implementing schedules and priorities
  • Copying/storing of physical media
  • Lifecycle management
  • Physical media destruction
  • Performing physical audits
  • Assisting with process development and improvement
  • Reviewing and capture project task status updates
  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education and Experience Requirement
A technical degree in computer science, or other related IT degree, and years of relevant experience for this position are as follows:
  • HS Diploma and 6+ years experience
  • BS/BA Degree and 2+ years experience
  • MS/MA Degree and 0+ years experience
Additional Requirements
  • Experience tracking of all physical media
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with team members, various levels of management, and internal clients with assorted levels of computer experience
  • Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment
  • A fast learner with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn technologies and understand unique system requirements
  • Previous experience completing and maintaining inventories

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Preferred skills include experience with any of the following:
  • Proven success in developing standards, process improvement, managing processes
  • Ability to review, analyze, document, and explain technical systems and data
  • Experience with IAVMs
  • General understanding of computer networks, hardware, databases, applications, security components, computer operations, and operating system maintenance
  • Understanding of the DoD environment and familiarity with the DoD Acquisition System
  • JIRA experience is a plus.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $50940 - $86580

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
