Description
We are currently hiring a Project Manager on a 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension, supporting multiple fast-paced construction projects across Salt Lake City, Utah County, Weber, and Davis County. The scope of work includes access control systems (PDK, Salto, Genea), security camera installation, structured cabling, and AV systems (Crestron, Q-Sys), with opportunities to travel and earn additional compensation. This company is expanding rapidly and looking to add to its growing team. You will be a valuable part of our Low Voltage Division where you will actively participate in leading crews and performing installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of low voltage projects across several commercial industries in the state of Utah and surrounding Intermountain Region. This person will report to Ogden, UT 5X/week and travel will be accommodated.
We are seeking a skilled and dependable access control professional to oversee the project installation and maintenance of commercial electronic access control systems. This role combines low-voltage integration experience with journeyman-level locksmithing skills, focusing on both traditional mechanical and modern electronic security systems. You will be responsible for leading field teams, working directly with contractors and customers, and ensuring successful project execution. The ideal candidate has working knowledge of Prodatakey, Milestone, and Salto systems, is comfortable with both electrical and mechanical hardware such as mag locks, crash bars, panic bars, closers, and digital locks, and is ready to take a leadership role in building secure, efficient access systems. Experience with Genea and familiarity with is a strong plus.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage commercial access control installations from planning to completion
  • Install, maintain, and repair locking mechanisms including:
  • Cylindrical, mortise, rim, unit, and interchangeable core locks
  • File cabinet, desk, and display case locks
  • Door closers, panic bars, electric strikes, magnetic locks, and automatic door openers
  • Install and program access control devices such as card readers, motion detectors, digital keypads, power supplies, solenoids, relays, and wireless transmitters
  • Cut new or replacement keys; rekey locks and buildings; pick and repair locks when necessary
  • Maintain key code records, key issuance tracking, and ensure mechanical security integrity
  • Conduct site surveys and security evaluations of existing systems
  • Coordinate with construction managers, foremen, and end-users to ensure timelines and specs are met
  • Ensure code compliance, proper documentation, and customer satisfaction
  • Troubleshoot and service systems after installation as required

  • Salto
  • Milestone Systems (VMS-integrated access)
  • Genea
  • Mercury-based hardware or similar systems
  • Familiar with structured cabling (Cat6), camera installation, IP networking, rack mounting, and system termination.
  • Understands compliance with local electrical codes and national low voltage standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience with electronic access control systems in a commercial setting
  • 3+ years of hands-on locksmithing or commercial door hardware experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Prodatakey, Milestone, and/or Salto
  • Familiarity with Genea access control systems preferred
  • Proficient in mechanical door hardware: electric strikes, mag locks, crash bars, closers, hinges, etc.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and cut sheets
  • Solid communication, team leadership, and customer interaction skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in active construction environments.
  • Strong documentation, scheduling, and communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with mobile field service tools.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
