Main responsibilities:
- Direct responsibility for all shelf tag & sign programs, presenting price, promotions and offers to customers in 2200+ store locations including highly visible campaigns
- Develop and execute brand standards and process for all shelf-edge and display price and promotion communication requiring complex orchestration within multiple systems and highly time sensitive requirements
- Ensure compliance with weights and measures and legal requirements on shelf communication in all regional selling locations
- Develop and execute SQL queries to extract and transform data from various sources to ensure execution of vendor funded programs generating very large income volumes
- Oversee Division led shelf edge needs to ensure efficient execution while balancing the needs of other Divisions and National teams under time constraints within extremely complex systems requiring a high degree of expertise
- Manage and train third party analysts executing tag image content and delivering to stores, overseeing quality and ensuring standards compliance
- Collaborate with IT, Price integrity and Division teams to ensure efficient, well-executed in-store creation of signs and tags
- Work with merchandising and marketing to identify opportunities for shelf communication and execute on agreed upon plans
- Manage and ensure the integrity of healthy aisle content presented to our in-store customers that enable them to make more informed choices
- Ensure that tag and shelf sign costing is extremely competitive through oversight of services and negotiations from third party providers with a $30MM+ annual spend
- Monitor vendor performance, conduct regular business reviews, and drive continuous improvements
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for both business process and system functionality, providing technical support and business translation across functional teams.
- Identify gaps between business needs and current capabilities and create solutions, particularly when urgent new needs or changes are identified
- Ensure all milestones and deliverables are met for new initiatives across the company requiring in store communications with signs and labels
- Meet with senior leadership to understand strategies and goals and proactively develop solutions to meet new business needs
- Direct and oversee continual efforts to streamline work and improve data quality with unique business needs in banners, national merchandizing programs and loyalty offers
- Identify opportunities for quality control improvements, efficient work process and lead change management
- Work closely with IT to maintain currency in technical knowledge and ensure critical business needs are addressed ongoing as capabilities change
- Perform root cause analysis against issues across different systems that lack integration
- Provide technical guidance to stakeholders across the organization in presenting customer communication to support initiatives for increased sales
- Manage execution of cost-saving initiatives in materials and labor while maintaining service quality and business continuity
- Identify opportunities in current systems and procedures, recommendations and lead for improvements
The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA and Boise, ID.
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- Batchelor degree or equivalent work experience
- 5 + years of experience in retail business above store level
- Experience and functional knowledge with pricing, promotions and retail integrity systems preferred
- Management background preferred as this role may have direct reports and manage third party activities.
- Solid understanding of point-of-sale data management
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with excellent planning and organizing skills
- High degree of initiative required and an ability to quickly prioritize and re-direct focus
- Advanced PC skills in MS Office and PowerBI navigation for data analysis
- Intermediate skills with QMF or SQL required
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and technology experts
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills and ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Active listening, critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenges
- Must be comfortable with direct discussions of project requirements and system constraints with cross-functional personnel up to the VP level.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships within and outside the company
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to convey complex information persuasively to diverse audiences
- Ability to successfully partner and collaborate with business stakeholders at division and corporate level.
- Experience in taking initiative and making time critical decisions while minimizing risk
- Strategic thinking skills with an ability to identify and implement business process improvements
- Capable of simplifying complex issues and proposing innovative recommendations
- Strong sense of urgency, time management, ability to continually re-prioritize and commitment to meet aggressive timelines
- Ability to quickly assess work situations, recognize business critical and urgent needs and pivot to meet them
