Mid-Level MMS Software Engineer Developer

The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer - Developer to join the Government Vehicle Health Management Systems (GVHMS) team located in Hazelwood, Missouri. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Software Engineering organization.

The GVHMS team develops, fields and supports product support systems for aircraft platforms. The Maintenance Management System (MMS) acquires and manages aircraft health and usage data, performs health and usage assessment and recommends maintenance actions. The team is looking for a highly motivated software engineer to develop software and software tests throughout all phases of the software development life-cycle (requirements, design, implementation and verification). The software engineer will develop cloud-based, micro-service applications on various software projects in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) software build pipeline using an agile methodology focused on code quality, security and automation.

Position Responsibilities

Designs, develops, tests, and maintains non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards.
Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations.
Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products.
Debugs and resolves issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products.
Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis.
Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development
Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
Executes and documents software research and development projects.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance, for which the government requires an U.S. Citizenship. A security clearance credential that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • 5 years of experience in designing and/or developing software frameworks
  • 5 years of experience in Object Oriented Design Principles
  • 5 years of experience in C/C# and ASP.NET

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree (or greater) from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience in .Net Core or ASP.NET MVC, Web Api & Microservices
  • Working knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar)
  • Experience with development & deployment on Cloud platforms such as Azure, PCF, Open Shift, and AWS
