Description

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician IV to support the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) program within the Mobility Platform Integration team. This position is based at the EastGate facility in Bedford, Indiana and requires up to 50% travel to various CONUS locations in support of installation efforts.

The Engineering Technician IV will perform hands-on integration, modification, and quality control of JLTV ECP installations. The role supports field operations, follows standardized processes, and ensures installations meet technical and safety standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Install and modify JLTV ECP kits at SAIC and military field locations.
  • Travel up to 50% to CONUS military bases and field sites to support integration and fielding operations.
  • Follow established work instructions, technical drawings, and engineering guidance.
  • Support quality assurance by identifying and reporting issues and discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with site leads, engineers, and fellow technicians during installations.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and redlines to ensure accurate work execution.
  • Document work performed and communicate any deviations or issues promptly.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of relevant mechanical or technician experience, or an associate's degree and at least 2 years of experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (required).
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% to CONUS military installations.
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical skills with vehicle systems or platform modifications.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Ability to follow processes and work instructions precisely.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current or prior experience supporting JLTV platform or similar military vehicle programs.
  • Experience installing engineering change proposals (ECPs) or technical modification kits.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, configuration control, or inspection procedures.
  • Familiarity with Service Contract Act (SCA) labor categories and guidelines.
