About the Role:

The Team:
You will be senior contributor and part of the Ratings Technology Information Architecture organization. This team, who has a broad knowledge on Ratings organization's critical data domains, technology stacks and architectural patterns, fosters knowledge sharing and collaboration that results in a unified strategy. All team members provide leadership, innovation, timely delivery, and the ability to articulate business value. Responsibilities and Impact:
Information Architecture team designs and supports the systems that we use to distribute high-quality market intelligence in the form of credit ratings, research, and thought leadership. It also comprises a series of carefully curated enterprise data stores, data services, data analytics and BI products that collectively support global ratings business to create & publish world class ratings, research, and related content across more than 90 global economies.
  • Support and foster a quality-first, agile culture that is built on partnership, trust and sharing to provide input on architecture, design and code. As a data architect, you are well respected by engineers and non-engineers alike
  • Provide technical expertise in the areas of database design and implementation, services, master data management, data modeling, data quality, data governance, data access & data integration
  • Responsible for gathering requirements and translate into actionable IT deliverables e.g. Domain Model, Reference Architecture, Solution Architecture, Data Flow, Context Diagram, Conceptual/Logical/Physical Data Model, and API Interfaces .
  • Be a proponent and practitioner of domain driven design principles, including design and implementation of domain models
  • Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of data design requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current industry technology trends
  • Understands and makes well-reasoned design (could mean refactoring / modernization) decisions and trade-offs and is able to articulate the same to other teams and peers
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $89,000 to $150,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • 7+ years of Information Technology experience
  • 5+ years of expert knowledge in database technologies like Oracle, NoSQL, data modeling tools like Erwin/Power Designer
  • 5+ Hands-on experience contributing to data/application architecture & designs, proven software/enterprise integration design patterns and full-stack knowledge including modern distributed front end and back end technology stacks
  • Extensive Data modeling and experience with ELT development frameworks as well as data and integration technologies such as Databricks, Apache/Pi Spark using Python and Scala
  • Experience in domain driven design principles and related activities like event storming and creating domain models
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment, understanding of project management principles
  • Excellent analytical thinking, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with strong ability to influence both IT and business partners
  • Financial services industry experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in metadata management and MDM tools like Collibra
  • Expert in cloud-based development methodologies and state of the art design patterns
  • Experience with building and supporting solutions in the cloud including a strong understanding of cloud native architectures, design patterns and best practices
  • Up to date and knowledgeable in technology and industry trends with ability to develop and presents substantive technical recommendations to senior management
