We are seeking a VB.NET Developer to join our team to work on crucial projects that are the bread and butter of our business. The role involves a mix of maintenance, new development, and system integration tasks. This position is crucial for managing the current team workload and contributing to our future technology strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance our existing software, ensuring its reliability and performance.
  • Integrate our systems with third-party vendors and handle API-related development.
  • Contribute to the security aspects of our software, including working on portal websites.
  • Participate in and contribute to requirements meetings where appropriate, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Document solutions and processes contributing to the team's knowledge base.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in VB.net, with significant experience in the Microsoft Stack (VB, .NET, SQL).
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude, with a wide-ranging skill set.
  • Experience with web development and an interest in expanding skill sets.
  • Familiarity with API development and integration with external systems.
  • Knowledge of security and experience with portal websites is a plus.
  • Ancillary skills such as knowledge of Apache are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, ask the right questions, and fill in gaps in understanding without micro-management.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of motivating oneself and participating actively in meetings.
  • Desire and aptitude to understand code written by others and develop new screens and/or features as needed.
