Job Summary

Medline Industries, LP. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Developer to join our Sales Compensation IT team. This role involves designing and implementing solutions that support the Sales Compensation division. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2). This position requires a dynamic, hard-working professional with a solid technical background and a desire to work in a fast-paced, large corporate environment.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and creation of logical and physical data models.
  • Develop, implement, test, and optimize complex stored procedures, functions, and views using T-SQL in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL databases.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake, supporting both batch and incremental processing.
  • Establish and promote data integration best practices including naming conventions, metadata standards, and pipeline orchestration patterns.
  • Identify and resolve gaps in the business processes and proposed changes.
  • Coordinate with team leads, solution architects, and ETL developers to implement viable solutions to support business requirements, including processing retro, current, and future data.
  • Provide production support and analyze issues to determine root causes and necessary courses of action for resolution.
  • Perform smoke testing after server and database maintenance activities are completed.
  • Assist in setting up UAT environments and validate the data calculated and output in test systems based on the provided inputs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement and validate data solutions to support the business requirements.
  • Create and update ER diagrams, process flows, architectural diagrams, configuration documents, functional specifications, and other database assets as required.
  • Follow database standards and procedures related to version control, change management, and automated deployments, including writing migration scripts.
  • Work with business analysts and subject matter experts to model, implement and expose data for reports and analytics.

Core Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience developing complex stored procedures, triggers, views, and key database assets, including performance optimization and large data processing using T-SQL.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2022 or newer, Azure SQL, and an understanding of industry best practices.
  • 2+ years of experience in data modeling, database operations, including performance optimization and large data processing.
  • 2+ years of experience implementing Data Warehouses and Data Marts.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing ETL jobs and data integrations in Microsoft Azure, using tools such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lakes.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing data models in a cloud-based architecture, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL for performing data analysis and performance tuning.
  • Proven knowledge and skills in designing data models and tables such as fact, snapshot, and dimension (including but not limited to medallion architectures, star schemas and slowly changing dimension designs).
  • Ability to test and document end-to-end processes.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in learning and understanding business domains.
  • Experience with Git for version control.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to create documentation for technical or business teams.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual with strong time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio) software.
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Experience with JIRA for task assignments and tracking.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in IT related field or equivalent work experience.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience with Microsoft Synapse, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
  • Experience in Sales Compensation systems, including commission and sales credit calculation, Territory, and Account Management.
  • Solid understanding of scrum and agile principles.
  • Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., SonarQube, Azure DevOps, GitLab, BitBucket).
  • Strong functional and business knowledge in an ERP environment.
  • Experience working with offshore teams.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$96,200.00 - $144,560.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
