Job Title: Avionics Technician III

Location: Colorado Springs, CO 80916

Contract: 3+ Months

About the Role

As an Avionics Technician III, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of advanced avionics systems. You'll apply your technical expertise to install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics components in compliance with FCC, FAA, and internal standards. Your work will directly support mission-critical operations in aerospace and defense environments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform hands-on maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of avionics systems and components.
  • Interpret and work from technical schematics, blueprints, and manuals to route and install wiring.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, tools, and documentation to ensure operational readiness.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards (FAA, FCC, company policies).
  • Operate in dynamic environments, including exposure to outdoor elements and high-decibel settings.
  • Support safety-sensitive operations involving hazardous materials, heavy equipment, and aviation systems.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with 5+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Proficiency in avionics installation, wiring, soldering, and crimping techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and wiring diagrams.
  • Must supply personal tools in good working condition.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in physically demanding environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with FCC regulations and FCC GROL certification.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools such as spectrometers, oscilloscopes, and pitot-static equipment.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or military operations.
  • Eligibility for U.S. Security Clearance.

  • Frequent walking, standing, climbing, and manual dexterity.
  • Visual and auditory acuity for detailed inspections and troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions, chemicals, and high-noise environments.
