Title: Fiber Optic Technician

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and self-sufficient Fiber Optics Technician to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in fiber optic installation and cable
work, and must have their own truck and all necessary tools required for the job.
Candidates with temp drop and drop barrier experience are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic and coaxial cables for residential and
commercial projects
Perform aerial and underground drops, both permanent and temporary (temp drops)
Set up and maintain drop barriers to protect temporary or exposed cable runs
Read and interpret network designs, blueprints, and technical schematics
Use diagnostic tools (OTDR, fusion splicer, power meter, etc.) to troubleshoot and verify
installations
Maintain accurate job records and complete required documentation
Ensure work is performed in accordance with all safety and quality standards
Communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and team members

Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in fiber optics and cable installation
Must have own reliable work truck and all tools necessary for fiber optic/cable
installation
Solid understanding of fiber construction processes (aerial, underground, splicing,
testing)
Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
Valid driver s license and clean driving record
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and work ethic

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with temporary drops and drop barrier installation
OSHA 10 or 30 Certification
CDL License a plus
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
