Senior Technical Designer - Intimates/Apparel
Location: New York, NY (Onsite 4-5 Days per Week)
Type: 3-Month W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $45-$51 per hour, depending on experience
Russell Tobin & Associates is seeking an experienced Technical Designer to support a leading global fashion brand known for its youthful, trend-forward approach to intimate apparel. This individual will play a key role in driving the technical design process for a popular intimates and loungewear line, ensuring products meet brand fit standards and are production-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the end-to-end technical design process from development to final fit.
- Analyze and evaluate garments to develop accurate fit specifications.
- Ensure products are developed in alignment with brand fit quality, manufacturing capabilities, and cost targets.
- Develop technical specifications and communicate fit direction to global vendors and factories for approvals and corrections.
- Participate in or lead fit sessions; write detailed fit comments and make pattern corrections as needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and provide direction to Assistant or Associate Technical Designers.
- Maintain documentation using Flex PLM, Excel, and Adobe Illustrator.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in technical design, specifically within intimates and/or apparel.
- Proven ability to manage and lead fit sessions, generate fit comments, and make informed pattern corrections.
- Proficiency in Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and Flex PLM is required. Experience with Centric PLM is preferred.
- Bachelor s degree in Fashion or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Must be available to work onsite in New York City 4 to 5 days per week.
