Job Description

AECOM is in search of a BIM Specialist IV. As a BIM Specialist IV with AECOM's Building and Places team in Atlanta, GA, you will play a crucial role in utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to enhance the design and construction process. Your expertise will contribute to creating innovative and sustainable solutions for various projects in the built environment. Collaborating with a dynamic team of professionals, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills and drive projects to success. This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Supports the Revit modeling and drawing development for the structural engineering department

  • Develops BIM execution plans.

  • Sets up building models in Revit for all disciplines

  • Modeling structural elements, developing plans, sections and details, under the direction of the engineer

  • Develops 2D sheets from 3D models for other disciplines

  • Develops clash detection reports (Navisworks)

  • Represents the Atlanta Office in BIM/Revit committees

  • Manages department software and hardware

  • Trains engineers for Revit use

  • Reviews structural shop drawings

  • May be required to attend site visits for data collection

  • Independently develops alternate technical solutions and design options in support of project team, e.g. white paper research, code review and wide range of difficult problems

  • Develops and/or implements the results of reports, opinions, or recommendations to address design challenges/opportunities

  • Leads the development and implementation of the design ideas and solutions

  • Responsible for communication and collaboration with full design team and client

  • Oversees and coordinates the technical work for projects consistent with experience

  • Understands the marketing of professional services

  • Develops and leads technical approach and criteria for a design element, and coordinates complex work

  • Ensures compliance to Quality Assurance Procedures and client specific standards

  • Employee works with clients as well as the internal and external project team to execute the project from concept to execution and completion

  • Responsible for communication and collaboration with full design team and client

  • Oversees and coordinates the technical work for projects consistent with experience

  • Understands the marketing of professional services

  • Develops and leads technical approach and criteria for a design element, and coordinates complex work

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Experience with Revit software

  • Experience in setting up BIM models

  • Experienced in Navisworks, particularly for clash detection purposes

  • Experienced in interpreting and utilizing structural plans and detail


Preferred Requirements

  • Field experience on structural job sites

  • Experience in reviewing structural shop drawings

  • Experience in working in multi discipline engineering and architectural environment

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $70,000.00 - $110,000.00.
