Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to join our team in Cape Canaveral, FL!

In this role, you will provide Test Engineering to the FBM program operations at Eastern Range (ER) test facilities. You will support all areas of testing at Cape and at the launch processing facilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

You will perform and maintain Certified Test Conductor status.
You will support the development process for Mechanical support equipment from decomposing requirements into system test solutions that support technical, schedule and cost constraints, through eventual product sell-off and delivery.
You will plan, implement, test, document, and maintain solutions for the integration and testing of components, elements, subsystems and/or systems.
You will review, evaluate and derive requirements for testability, develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems.
You will create and update instructions and procedures using proprietary software.
You will perform integration and testing of Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile and support equipment.

This position is located at a facility that requires special access, and this position will require a government security clearance.

Basic Qualifications

Familiarity with mechanical operations and/or testing
Willingness and ability to work off shifts as needed, overtime and weekends as required.
Willingness and ability to travel Domestic and Foreign in support activities such as launch of campaigns up to 30 days at a time.
Must be able to obtain a CTC certification.

Desired skills

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Willingness and ability to work with general direction and meet day to day testing and integration objectives.
Previous FBM background.
Previous Test or shop experience (examples: hands on repair, auto mechanic, welding, equipment operations, machine shop, auto body /paint, etc).
Experience with COTS equipment and system integration, Mechanical troubleshooting and design.
Knowledge of the latest Test and Measurement Equipment (T&ME) and techniques preferred.
Working knowledge of automation framework.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
