Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Database Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise-level database environments. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of critical data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain enterprise database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Monitor database performance and tune queries, indexes, and storage for optimal uptime.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and establish robust backup/recovery processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation for database architecture, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Lead efforts in database upgrades, migrations, and consolidations.
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and infrastructure teams to support application environments.
  • Configure IIS and other application server settings to align with security and performance standards.
  • Automate database-related tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, cron).
  • Manage network access and ensure compliance with state regulatory standards.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and capacity management.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations.
  • Provide 24/7 support for mission-critical systems as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to manage priorities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Collaborative mindset and leadership skills.

Technical Skills:

  • DBMS: Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Operating Systems: Experience with Windows Server and Linux/Unix.
  • Scripting & Automation: PowerShell, Shell scripting, or similar.
  • Backup & Recovery: Familiarity with native and third-party backup solutions.
  • Performance Tuning: Query and server optimization.
  • Security: Knowledge of access control, encryption, and auditing practices.

Preferred Skills:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
  • Familiarity with .NET/C# environments.
  • Understanding of network firewall configurations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate).
