System Administrator Expertise in Access Control Systems (Remote)
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a System Administrator Expertise in Access Control Systems for their Remote location. This position is located in the Software Development and Operations organization within the IT department. The Physical Access Control and Monitoring IT Application System Administrator installs, maintains, administers, and troubleshoots a variety of enterprise security systems. The system administrator assists in the coordination of security projects of varying size. Projects range in size, from small additions to complete site systems.

Key Responsibilities for System Administrator Expertise in Access Control Systems:
- Maintain and support security system applications such as access control administration software, Digital Video Recorder (DVR)/Network Video Recorder (NVR), digital cameras, and remote management within parameters set forth by the information system owner (ISO) and authorized designees.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and administer security system applications such as access control administration software, DVR/NVR, digital cameras, and remote management within parameters set forth by the information system owner (ISO) and authorized designees.
- Install and upgrade system software, client hardware, and components as necessary.
- Execute authorized procedures to analyze, diagnose, and resolve system trouble conditions during normal and after hours to ensure operational status in a timely manner.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application and server/host communications and system performance issues in coordination with Network services.
- Work with other IT personnel and authorized vendors to facilitate approved preventive maintenance and conduct performance testing.
- Perform and/or coordinate activities to verify adherence to internal quality assurance standards on all implementations of varying size and complexity involving multiple vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Alert the manager of any concerns.
- Assist team with proper security, storage, transportation, and participate in physical inventory count process of equipment as requested.
- Assist and support integration of video and intrusion detection systems with access and control systems (both analogue and network/IP based)
- Assist in the coordination of security projects of varying size. Projects range in size, from small additions to complete site systems.
- Provide on-site resolutions to issues and document results.
- Maintain, update, and create documentation in support of evidence and compliance requirements.
- Assist with compliance data calls and reporting requirements.
Requirements/Qualification for System Administrator Expertise in Access Control Systems:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science or a directly related technical discipline is preferred.
- 3 years of experience is required with an applicable with an associate or higher degree.
- 5 years of experience is required without a degree or an applicable degree.
- 5 years of experience in information technology, computer science, or a related field is required.
- Experience must include direct work experience in information technology performing system administration.
- 1 year of specialized experience with the following skills:
- Administering access control systems.
- Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating Systems (current versions).
- Working knowledge of Honeywell ProWatch line of products.
- Working knowledge of security systems hardware, access control software, and Close Circuit TV (CCTV/Digital Video Recorder (DVR)) systems.
- Working knowledge of computerized intrusion systems or network-based electronic security and life safety systems.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting physical security system integration efforts.
- Working knowledge of IT Service Management software for task management tracking to ensure that work is assigned and updated within the system.
- Valid U.S. Driver s License is required.
