Job Details

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineer to support the development and maintenance of an AWS-based Data Warehouse designed to enable advanced business analytics and reporting in a Medicaid data environment. The role involves end-to-end development and management of ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage, transforming data for DB2 Warehouse schemas, and ensuring consistent, high-quality data availability to support Cognos reporting. Job Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage to ingest and transform Medicaid data Implement both batch and incremental data jobs aligned with reporting requirements Support data modeling to meet Cognos reporting needs Collaborate with business analysts, report developers, and data stewards to convert requirements into solutions Conduct data profiling, validation, and cleansing to ensure data quality Use AWS services (e.g., S3, EC2, Glue, Lambda) to enhance data processing Monitor ETL performance and troubleshoot job failures to meet SLAs Create and maintain documentation and data flow diagrams Support testing, deployment, and version control across DEV, TEST, and PROD Ensure compliance with HIPAA and Medicaid data security standards Required Skills: Minimum 7 years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Warehousing Production experience with IBM DataStage or similar ETL tools Strong proficiency with DB2 Warehouse: complex SQL, stored procedures, schema design Working knowledge of AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, CloudWatch) for data solutions Experience with large datasets and performance tuning Familiarity with Cognos or similar BI tools for data support Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and HIPAA compliance Shell scripting or Python scripting for job orchestration (preferred) Preferred Skills: Experience with Medicaid data or Medicaid Data Warehouses AWS certification (e.g., Data Analytics Specialty or Solutions Architect Associate) IBM DataStage certification Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, Jira, and Confluence Certifications: AWS and IBM DataStage certifications preferred Education: Bachelors Degree required (in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field) Years of Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
