Role: ServiceNow Dev with CMDB experience

Location: REMOTE

Duration: Long-term/Fulltime

Roles and Responsibilities:

Mid-Level ServiceNow Developer to support Sentara s complex ServiceNow instances. The role involves designing, configuring, developing, and implementing both baseline and custom applications and enhancements in ServiceNow, while providing architectural guidance to ensure platform stability and adherence to design standards and coding/ServiceNow best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work independently and as a technical team member on ServiceNow development projects.
  • Support internal and external customers across multiple ServiceNow instances and domains.
  • Utilize Agile/Scrum methodologies to manage and execute development work efficiently.
  • Provide advisory support to functional and admin teams on ServiceNow best practices, design, and development standards.
  • Collaborate with business, systems, and technology partners to gather business and system requirements during analysis meetings.
  • Develop and enhance existing ServiceNow applications as per requirements.
  • Script Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, ACLs, Workflow Activities, and other ServiceNow components.
  • Facilitate the rollout of new applications and enhancements in ServiceNow (via Change control), ensuring smooth deployment.
  • Analyze system performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and scalability.
  • Create and support reports, dashboards, using metrics and analytics when necessary.
  • Create and support training materials including conducting live training sessions and demos.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong familiarity with ServiceNow Suite (e.g., ITSM, SPM, FSM, ITOM, SecOps, etc.) and platform wide analytics, AI, reporting and Virtual Agent a plus.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable ability as an independent ServiceNow Developer, with a focus on analytical problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Familiarity with system/software engineering lifecycle principles, including requirements analysis, functional and technical solutions development, and application support.
  • Experience working with large datasets, performing data analysis/modeling, and contributing insights for management decision-making.
  • ServiceNow certification (CSA, Developer, Implementation Specialist, Architect)
  • 3+ year of ServiceNow and CMDB development experience (mandatory)
