Description – Network Engineer
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in a critical role focused on connectivity (50%) and secure networking (50%), including SD-WAN and next-generation firewall technologies. This position involves advanced architecture and design work, Tier 3 & 4 escalation support, and collaboration on product development use cases. Network Architecture & Design (30%)
- Develop and implement secure network solutions, including SD-WAN and next-gen firewalls.
- Collaborate on product development and use case validation.
- Design automation scripts using Python, Ansible, and REST APIs.
- Conduct scheduled testing of CPE hardware and firmware (cellular routers, modems).
- Validate LTE and 5G connectivity (supporting upcoming 5G device launch).
- Maintain technical documentation for all testing and design activities.
- Handle Tier 3 & 4 network escalations (Operations team manages Tier 1 & 2).
- Troubleshoot complex network and security issues using enterprise-level tools.
- Networking Fundamentals: TCP/IP stack, routing protocols, VLANs, trunking, DNS.
- Security: Firewalls, Unified Threat Management, VPNs, overlay/underlay networks, Cisco security solutions.
- Wireless: LTE & 5G experience.
- Tools: Jira, network management platforms.
- Automation: Python, Ansible, REST APIs (script design & maintenance).
- Hardware: Cradlepoint, Versa (heavy use), Prisma (nice to have), Cisco, CenturyLink.
- Other: Linux, SQL databases.
- Testing: CPE hardware/firmware validation.
