Position Summary
The Danville Quality Manager provides leadership, direction and training for the Quality inspectors, calibration technicians and quality engineers group within the business unit. Manages day to day functioning of the Quality Assurance Team to ensure areas of work, customer services and product qualities are maintained to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
Act as a primary point of contact for all Danville DC and MRO Quality matters; support Danville Carbon as needed. Be change agent to drive major culture change across Quality.
Become the SME for the North American Quality value stream as a whole with a detailed understanding of the manufacturing and quality processes.
Build and support schedules for new quality complex, equipment moves, FAIs & machine capability studies.
Responsible for the adherence to all customer requirements.
Lead and support from a quality perspective work transfer and any business requirements to bring online outsourced vendors (OSV).
Maintain and track quality for the purposes of analysis, control, improvement and management reports and maintains a quality system in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Quality representative for AS9100 compliance.
Implement a quality culture of root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions in parallel while ensuring that a robust Quality Clinic and MRB processes are maintained.
Verify the quality assurance objectives and processes are aligned with the corporate goals.
Provide effective organizational structure with proper training, coaching, and oversight as necessary as well as succession planning to achieve best practices in Parker Braking Systems manufacturing.
Support cross-functional improvement activities across all global value streams as needed.
Be a focal point for continuous improvement and manage problem solving investigations and reporting (RCCA).
Develop systems, methods to measure, and process and product monitoring to assure compliant product.
Provide effective communications within Braking Systems and with other organizations to provide an atmosphere of cooperation.
Manage and maintain a group of employees capable of adapting to a dynamic business and manufacturing environment with focuses on continuous improvement, good communication, professionalism and efficiency.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor degree required, preferably in Quality Assurance or Engineering
Certifications: Certified Lead Auditor or Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Manager or equivalent experience in related field; Six Sigma Green Belt a plus; Six Sigma Black Belt a huge plus.
Years' Experience: 5-10 years of relevant Quality experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in machining and assembly, with experience in the Aerospace industry highly desirable.
Keen analytical skills with a high level of attention to details in order to prepare statistical analysis.
Passionate about problem solving with a demonstrated a history of driving true root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
Demonstrate a strong foundation of problem solving tools and root cause/corrective action including but not limited to fishbone diagram,5 Whys and 8Ds. Experience with "A3" 8 Step Problem Solving methodology, DMAIC and DOE a huge plus.
Knowledge and preferably experience in set up and operation for Statistical Process Control
Ability to make technical and managerial decisions which will have a significant positive effect on Quality Assurance.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams as well as communicate effectively with all internal and external customers and employees in a timely and effective manner.
Able to lead, plan and direct technical efforts, and apply technical tools to meet team objectives.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools
Experience with SAP, Q-Pulse and CAPPS a huge plus
Good experience and working knowledge of Government (Military/DCMA), regulatory (FAA, EASA) and AS9100/AS9102 Quality System requirements.
