Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support hardware installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting across various systems. This role involves preparing and staging equipment, performing startups and shutdowns, and ensuring all installations meet safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have basic IT hardware knowledge and be comfortable working in a physically active environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and decommission hardware (racks, hard drives, switches) following detailed instructions and protocols.
  • Perform post-installation quality checks, ensuring proper grounding, labeling, and cabling.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, replacing faulty components as needed.
  • Execute hardware refreshes and upgrades (e.g., memory, OS rebuilds) with minimal supervision.
  • Monitor systems for performance issues and respond to error messages.
  • Assist with testing and debugging new programs.
  • Operate software tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) to manage data and generate reports.
  • Escalate incidents appropriately to Data Center Technician Leads.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and components.
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders as needed.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous data center or IT support experience.
  • Experience with cabling, punch downs, terminations, and rack-and-stack setups.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and troubleshooting workflows.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
