As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you can share new ideas and collaborate on projects as a consultant without extensive travel. If so, consider an opportunity with Deloitte under our Project Delivery Talent Model. Project Delivery Model (PDM) is tailored for long-term, onsite client service delivery.

Work You'll Do

  • Partner with data engineering teams to optimize infrastructure for distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark and Hadoop.
  • Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues, delivering 24/7 support and minimizing system downtime.
  • Optimize resource utilization and costs by deploying autoscaling and spot pricing strategies.
  • Mentor and lead a team of DevOps engineers, providing direction, goal setting, and performance reviews.
  • Spearhead the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using AWS services, enabling seamless and automated deployments.
  • Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers, project team members, and representatives from various teams. Escalate any matters needing extra attention from engagement management.
  • Lead client engagement workstreams independently and collaboratively. Focus on improving, optimizing, and transforming processes. Implement leading practice workflows, address quality deficits, and drive operational outcomes.


The Team
As a part of the US Strategy & Analytics Offering Portfolio, the AI & Data offering provides managed AI, Intelligent Automation, and Data DevOps services across the advise-implement-operate spectrum.

Qualifications Required

  • 8+ years of professional experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing DevOps pipelines and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using AWS services
  • Experience developing version control, configuration management, and IaC using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience managing serverless application deployments using AWS Lambda and API Gateway
  • Experience mentoring a team of DevOps engineers
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Must live within a commutable distance from Los Angeles, CA or New York, New York and comfortable working 2-3 days a week in office


Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or similar AWS certifications.
  • Analytical/ Decision Making Responsibilities
  • Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products
  • Can operate independently or with minimum supervision
  • Excellent Written and Communication Skills
  • Ability to deliver technical demonstrations
