The Quality Team at Tesla is seeking a Materials Engineer with a strong background in material testing, analytical methods, and problem-solving methodologies. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally to resolve challenges, improve manufacturability, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design, production, reliability, and quality engineering to address issues and improve processes
- Lead projects from concept through validation to implementation, emphasizing quality
- Sustain products through cost reduction and yield improvements
- Use structured problem-solving tools such as DMAIC, 8D, and Ishikawa
- Analyze data to identify trends and enhance quality and efficiency
- Monitor and reduce process variation using SPC and MSA techniques
- Develop and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, and work instructions for quality testing
Requirements
- Degree in Materials, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 year of experience in Quality, Process Design, Process Improvement or Operations
- Strong expertise in material testing, including mechanical/structural, chemical and dimensional testing
- Proficiency in analytical tools: Keyence, SEM-EDS, Instron, Rheometer, FTIR, XRF, and others is preferred
- Knowledge of statistical tools such as JMP or Minitab for data analysis
- Experience with root cause analysis, MSA studies and implementing data-driven solutions
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams
