We are seeking a highly experienced AWS Cloud Solutions Architect with proven hands-on expertise not just training in designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale AWS cloud solutions in complex enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to lead cloud adoption initiatives across business and IT functions.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with IT functional teams to design AWS cloud-based solutions aligned with Microservices and SOA architectures.
Create detailed architecture deliverables: bill of materials, vendor components, cost estimates, and implementation parameters.
Prepare solution descriptions, technical approaches, and risk mitigation plans for leadership review.
Lead organizational change for cloud adoption, developing and communicating cloud policies, standards, and reference architectures.
Research industry trends, assess impact on enterprise architecture, and recommend innovative AWS-based solutions.
Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture governance, security standards (SOX, PCI), and industry best practices.
Interface with vendors and internal teams to maintain alignment with standard architectures.
Provide SWAT-level technical assistance for high-priority issues impacting enterprise systems.
Must haves - Required Qualifications
Total of over 13 years of experience.
AWS Certification: Active AWS Cloud Associate or Professional Certification.
Proven AWS Expertise: Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and scaling AWS solutions (compute, storage, networking, IAM, automation).
Integration Skills: Experience integrating AWS services with SaaS and on-premises solutions (Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, Linux, SAP, etc.).
Automation: Proficiency in scripting/coding for AWS automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet).
Compliance: Familiarity with regulated environments (SOX, PCI) and AWS security controls.
Generative AI: Working knowledge of prompt engineering and AI integration patterns.
Architecture Documentation: Proficient in Visio, Draw.io, and producing technical designs in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI.
Agile/DevOps: Knowledge of Agile development, CI/CD, containerization, and deployment strategies (including Kafka in large-scale environments).
Data Management: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and executive audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex enterprise ecosystems.
Ability to mentor teams, lead workshops, and drive adoption of cloud-first strategies.
Nice to Have
Prior large-scale federal agency or regulated industry experience.
Experience leading large-scale enterprise migrations to AWS.
