Job Details

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Engineering Technologist II with our large power and utilities client in Raleigh, NC. This is a 36-month contract with a potential for extension. This is a hybrid position - 3 days a week in office.

Pay: $30.08 - $35.08/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.

Responsibilities:
Performs RTU/SCADA check out of electric field equipment data in a Client Energy Management System (EMS) tool.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with control systems and/or relay schemes
  • Previous experience with SCADA (Supervisory Controls and Data Acquisition) and Remote Terminal Units (RTU s)
  • Previous experience with field equipment testing and commissioning process
  • Experience in utility industry - Understanding of Transmission or Distribution equipment
  • Previous operator experience
  • B.S. in engineering technology and 2-4 years experience OR associate degree in engineering technology with 4-8 years of experience OR 7-14 years equivalent experience without degree

Specific Requirements:

  • Engineering Technologist II: Provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with some supervision.
  • Workers are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence.
  • Provides technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in the area of expertise.
  • Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
  • Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance.
  • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintains accurate records and files.
  • Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Understanding of basic principles of project management.
  • Understands and Follows company s human performance techniques to mitigate errors.
  • Ability and interest to work with computer systems and software tools.
