Description
We are looking for a skilled Web Developer with expertise in WordPress to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role involves creating, updating, and maintaining custom WordPress themes and plugins to ensure optimal performance and functionality. The position is 100% remote, offering flexibility while supporting projects for federal government clients.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain WordPress websites, including custom themes and plugins, to meet client requirements.
Ensure website performance, security, and accessibility standards are upheld.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to website functionality and performance.
Implement and manage content updates efficiently using WordPress CMS.
Conduct quality assurance testing, including bug tracking and resolution, to ensure seamless user experiences.
Integrate APIs and third-party tools to enhance website capabilities.
Utilize tools like Atlassian Jira to manage tasks and track project progress.
Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in web development and WordPress.
Support ongoing website maintenance needs for federal government clients.
Requirements
Proven experience in WordPress development, including custom themes and plugins.
Strong understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
Familiarity with back-end development and database management.
Knowledge of API development and integration.
Experience with bug tracking and project management tools like Atlassian Jira.
Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies for project execution.
Ability to ensure compliance with accessibility and security standards.
