Position Title: Deputy Project Manager

Location: Hybrid, Washington D.C.

Position Overview: Ready to make a real impact? Indev is seeking an experienced Deputy Project Manager to support our clients at Department of Homeland Security. As a Deputy Project Manager, you'll be the glue that holds multiple projects together, driving efficiency, organization, and consistency across various IT initiatives. You'll craft repeatable processes, streamline workflows, and ensure key deliverables stay on track, making a tangible difference in how projects run. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a high degree of initiative, and is adept in building relationships and influencing decision making to help drive delivery and consistency across projects.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist a team of IT Project Managers in the ongoing management of high-profile, enterprise projects by collaborating to draft meeting agendas, planning and scheduling meetings, and ensuring delivery of required documentation.
  • Help drive consistency and continuous improvement across IT Project Managers and delivery by defining repeatable processes and promoting the Software Lifecycle Management (SLM) process.
  • Create ongoing transparency into project status, risks, issues, and delays, creating alignment between IT Project Managers, teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Support the entire lifecycle of various IT initiatives, including initial planning, implementation, testing and evaluation, and ongoing operations.
  • Support the ongoing development of Product Roadmaps across projects, ensuring alignment towards the broader Program level Roadmap.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • 5+ years supporting IT projects.
  • Experienced in working in an Agile environment and promoting Agile practices.
  • Excellent Jira and Confluence skills to drive transparency and alignment around project progress.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to help drive high quality documentation and presentations.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to work across multiple initiatives and stakeholders.
  • Skilled at relationship management and able to quickly build relationships across a diverse and changing landscape of stakeholders.
  • A high degree of initiative, being able to readily jump in to solve problems and support emergent changes and priorities.

Nice to have s:

  • Previous experience at DHS with an understanding of the Software Lifecycle Management (SLM) process
  • Project Management and/or Agile certifications, such as PMP, PMP-ACP, CSM, etc.
