A BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) Platform Bring-up Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and debugging the BIOS firmware that acts as an interface between the computer's hardware and its operating system. This role involves working closely with various hardware components and ensuring that the system's firmware is optimized for performance and compatibility.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BIOS Platform Bring-up Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and integration of BIOS firmware for new hardware platforms. You will work closely with hardware design teams and other firmware engineers to ensure successful bring-up, validation, and optimization of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain BIOS firmware for new hardware platforms.

Collaborate with hardware engineers to resolve system-level issues during the bring-up phase.

Write and execute detailed test plans to ensure the quality and stability of the BIOS firmware.

Implement firmware features and optimizations for performance, power management, and system stability.

Debug and resolve BIOS-related issues reported by validation teams, customers, or during internal testing.

Contribute to the design and development of platform features and participate in code reviews.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to BIOS and UEFI firmware development.

Document BIOS specifications, system design details, and validation procedures.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Strong background in BIOS/UEFI firmware development and debugging.

Experience with system-level bring-up, hardware initialization, and validation.

Proficiency in programming languages, particularly C/C++ and assembly.

Familiarity with x86 or ARM architecture and related platform components (CPU, chipset, memory, etc.).

Experience with industry-standard development and debugging tools (e.g., compilers, JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes).

Knowledge of operating system fundamentals and the boot process.

Ability to read and understand hardware schematics and datasheets.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Shell.

Knowledge of platform security features and secure boot process.

Previous experience with version control systems, such as Git.

Industry certifications related to BIOS or firmware development.
