We are looking for Senior UX Designer for our client in Toronto, ON
Job Title: Senior UX Designer
Job Type: Contract
Job Description:
- The candidate will support the end-to-end design and delivery of digital services, from discovery to live service operations.
- This includes facilitating workshops, conducting user research, creating prototypes, validating solutions with users, and ensuring accessibility and usability compliance.
- The role will work closely with business, technical, and stakeholder teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Discovery Phase:
Facilitate project kick-off meetings to produce:
Business Model Canvas, 5 Whys, User Personas, Stakeholder Mapping, Strategy Map- Short- and long-term goals, fears and challenges, and problem statements
Conduct user research to produce:
User interview topic maps and scripts- User interview synthesis and research findings reports
- Present findings during Inception ( Science Fair Day ) to align business and technical teams on next steps.
- Additional deliverables: User Storyboards, Technical Service Blueprints, and defined business KPIs.
- Test hypotheses and explore potential solutions to meet user needs.
- Conduct design sprints (e.g., Google Ventures 5-Day Sprint) as needed.
- Produce clickable prototypes and validate them with users through usability testing.
- Iterate designs based on user feedback.
- Identify processes or policies requiring updates to support new services.
- Produce a business proposal to justify Beta phase funding.
- Define vision for solution and prioritize features for Beta development.
- Deliver KPIs related to user solutions.
- Build and test a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) in a live, user-facing environment.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, reporting, acceptance, retrospective).
- Create and validate user stories, sketch ideas, produce designs, and iterate based on usability testing.
- Conduct accessibility compliance testing and usability sessions for the MVP.
- Obtain product owner sign-off and update backlog for future iterations.
- Support continuous improvement of live services.
- Conduct ongoing user research: interview topic maps, scripts, synthesis, and findings reports.
- Conduct regular accessibility compliance and usability testing.
- Analyze usage analytics and user behavior to track and measure KPIs.
- Strong facilitation and collaboration skills for workshops and stakeholder meetings.
- Expertise in user research, usability testing, prototyping, and service design.
- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Understanding of accessibility and compliance standards.
- Ability to iterate quickly and adapt designs based on user feedback and research insights.
- Bachelor s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Service Design, or related field.
- Experience in end-to-end service design or UX design projects.
- Proficiency with prototyping and design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
- Experience in analyzing user data and defining KPIs for digital services.
