Lead the Charge in the Pacific: Senior Network Administrator/Operations Lead at SOSi

Essential Job Duties

As the Senior Network Administrator/Operations Lead, you ll oversee a high-performing team of administrators, analysts, and technicians across the Area-of-Responsibility (AOR). Your mission: ensure seamless, secure, and compliant network operations that support critical DoD communications. From LAN/BAN/WAN infrastructure to Unified Communications, VoIP, VTC, firewalls, and cryptographic systems you ll drive the planning, monitoring, and maintenance of the technologies that keep USINDOPACOM connected and mission-ready.

  • Identifies and prioritize network assignments. Coordinates internal and external resources relevant to network-related initiatives. Communicates/manages network-related responsibilities to team. Participates in and provides feedback on network-relevant special projects.
  • Continuously aware of operational status of networks and related effects. Communicates status and changes, as well as other identified Request for Information (RFI s) to leadership, Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) and interested parties.
  • Ensure incidents regarding network-infrastructure and related core services are tracked and resolved. Acts as a point of incident escalation and coverage. Manages proper communication, correction and response.
  • Evaluates new services, technologies, software, tools, and devices that may improve organizational abilities to proactively monitor performance and remediate concerns.
  • Performs supervisory and administrative oversight of managed personnel. Provides recruiting, onboarding, direction/guidance, training, and assessment of network administrators, analysts and technicians.
  • Validates SOPs and TTPs associated with current knowledge of relevant network technologies. Regularly collects and summarizes pertinent network accomplishments, issues and concerns.

  • Ensures compliance with custody and ownership of Government equipment and related components.
  • Configures and maintains Cisco routers, switches, Adaptive Security Appliances (ASAs), Taclane encryption devices, and Cisco Voice over IP (VoIP) systems to support efficient data flow within the network, while following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) when necessary.
  • Implements and provides oversight of Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) and Taclane encryption methods to protect sensitive data.
  • Provides essential support in the maintenance of VDI environments, ensuring efficient and secure user access.
  • Manages Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Video Teleconferencing systems (VTC)s, and other Cisco VoIP systems to ensure reliable communication services.
  • Collaborate with the Cross-Domain Solutions team to facilitate secure information sharing across security domains.
  • Liaises with POCs and customers to understand their network needs and provides appropriate solutions, including but not limited to List of Materials (LOM), proposals and related supporting documents (e.g., solution diagrams, implementation timelines, etc.).
  • Diligently follows guidance and direction from the Operations Manager, adhering to established standards and procedures for network administration.
  • Participates in related solution technologies and special projects, as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active in-scope TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor s Degree in IT, Networking, or similar; or 8+ years of experience in network administration.
  • DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP).
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification, or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Expertise in Cisco routers, switches, ASA, Palo Alto firewalls, CSfC, Taclane encryption methods, VDI environments, Cross-Domain Solutions, CUCM, and VTCs.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices and compliance standards including government Secure Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot network issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing network requirements, and effectively communicate with POCs and customers.
  • Able to support 24/7 operations (including support to exercises), when necessary.
  • Able to follow instructions and work both independently and in a (distributed) team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant IT certifications, particularly related to Cisco and network security (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, ITIL).
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) protocols and procedures.
  • Experience with virtual infrastructure, VDI/thin-client, and VoIP deployments.
  • Knowledge of EverFox, Juniper, and other network technologies.
  • Proficient in Help Desk and software applications (Jira, Service Now, Remedy).
  • Awareness of Command and Control (C2) applications.
  • Experience in ITIL framework and best practices (e.g., Change Management, Configuration Management, Incident Management, Capacity Planning).
  • Customer-service oriented with a willingness to participate and assist.
