Job Details

This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing infrastructure team in New York City focused on the performance, reliability, and scalability of production database systems. This is a full-time, hybrid position working with MySQL, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Terraform to manage secure, high-availability data systems across cloud and on-premise environments.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to take real ownership over database infrastructure in a high-impact environment. You'll be joining a collaborative team where your work directly supports business-critical applications accessed by thousands of users. Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of professional hands-on experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL
  • Experience supporting high-availability database clusters with replication and sharding
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, with solid knowledge of MySQL internals
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Puppet, Ansible)
  • Strong background in Linux systems and shell scripting
  • Understanding of zero-downtime migrations and database performance tuning
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails or Golang
  • Knowledge of caching tools such as Redis or Memcached
  • Familiarity with DataDog, CircleCI, or similar monitoring platforms
  • Experience supporting data compliance initiatives (SOC2, ISO, HIPAA)
  • Background in scripting, automation, and CI/CD systems
  • Experience in startup environments or scaling database systems in fast-growing teams
