Technical Project Manager / Business Analyst

The Technical Project Manager / Business Analyst will work on building a new solution using AWS native technologies. This solution includes a new platform, data storage and processing, and a user interface. The role involves coordinating across multiple development teams to ensure the project meets business goals, with a strong emphasis on ease of operational support and utilization of standard SDLC processes. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled and collaborative team.

Responsibilities and Impact

This resource will be responsible for all aspects of traditional project management and business analyst functions.

• Lead the development and implementation of a new solution using AWS native technologies, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Work with internal project team members and other interdependent teams to estimate work, define project milestones, and identify deliverables. Create a project backlog and manage priorities and interdependencies.
• Ensure compliance with standard SDLC processes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify and manage critical paths. Evaluate risks and build mitigation strategies. Identify and track issues to closure. Manage escalations.
• Work with stakeholders to clarify scope and project requirements. Break business requirements down into functional and non-functional requirements and capture using standard documentation templates.
• Work with design and development resources to document technical build specifications. Facilitate approvals for multiple phases of design such as platform architecture, data structures, user interfaces.
• Ensure the solution encompasses business continuity, operational support requirements, and security standards.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members to foster a highly collaborative work environment.
• Lead communications with and provide status updates to project stakeholders and impacted parties.
• Track project progress and velocity vs baseline to ensure project is completed on-time.
• Lead quality assurance activities to identify required testing and track testing execution. Facilitate user acceptance testing.
• Create operational support documentation and facilitate training for end users.
• Create and maintain a project log and capture status and resolutions of logged items.
• Manage data migration activities.

Basic Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager and/or Business Analyst in IT application development projects.
• Strong understanding of AWS native technologies and experience in managing projects utilizing these technologies.
• Proficiency in standard SDLC processes and project management methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Previous participation in and knowledge of standard testing practices.
• Ability to create data flow and other diagrams in Visio.
• Experience with building data processing solutions.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing projects within a cloud environment, particularly using AWS services.
• Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.
