Role: Clinical NGS Interpretation Software Manager

Location: Redwood, CA (Onsite)

Position Overview:

As the Engineering Manager for Clinical NGS Interpretation Software, you will play a key role in leading a talented team of developers to enhance and evolve our industry-leading software. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to ISO13485 / IVDR compliance standards, and driving improvements through an efficient and agile development process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the formulation and execution of the overall software development strategy and timeline.
  • Work closely with senior management to align engineering goals with the company's broader business objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a cross-functional team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members to promote professional growth and skill development.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as QA, content curation, and development teams, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of project goals and project timelines.
  • Product Development: Drive the development and enhancement of our Clinical NGS interpretation software, ensuring it remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
  • Own and manage project timelines, deliverables, and milestones, ensuring timely and high-quality product releases.
  • Implement and optimize agile development processes to enhance team efficiency and product delivery.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure the team operates within an ISO13485 / IVDR compliant environment, adhering to regulatory standards in the development of clinical software. Represent development practices for ISO13854 and IVDR internal/external compliance and certification audits
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to guarantee the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the software development lifecycle.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a lead engineering role, preferably in the development of scientific or life science SaaS software.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving an agile development process and managing complex projects.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Experience in a regulated environment, with a focus on ISO13485 / IVDR compliance, is highly desirable.
