Job Summary
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you have full engineering responsibility for assigned manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure that processes are effective, efficient and produce parts to requirements via the duties described below. You will perform functions to support production on engineering related issues, resolve production delays and improve costs and productivity.

Manufacturing Engineer II: Under moderate supervision, this position is responsible for a variety of intermediate level engineering responsibilities. Uses broad knowledge of engineering discipline, processes and tools to complete various project subtasks. You will work on a major project or several projects of moderate scope and features. Lead and execute small projects. You will participate/lead lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste, cycle times and improve flow
Manufacturing Engineer III: Responsible for a variety of professional level engineering responsibilities. Uses advanced knowledge of engineering discipline, processes and tools to complete and ensure compliance of various subtasks. May help to develop and define engineering processes. Acts as mentor to lower-level engineers and technicians. May have 1 or more direct reports. Works on major projects or several projects of medium high complexity and scope. Support/lead long range planning for processes, equipment and manufacturing. You will lead lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste, cycle times and improve flow

The job consists of both standing and sitting at a workstation and wearing safety glasses, covered shoes, and steel toe shoes in designated areas. Infrequent travel, approximately 1-3 times per year

Job Summary

What will you do?
- Acquire and maintain a high level of expertise on assigned processes and equipment to be the process owner to ensure processes are safe, effective, efficient and produce parts to requirements
- Support production regarding engineering issues/topics. Identify, lead, and/or support root cause analysis, corrective action and problem resolution for assigned products, processes and equipment
- Perform research, design and development/improvement of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment to improve efficiency, quality and reduce waste
- Works on major projects or several projects of medium high complexity and scope. Support/lead long range planning for processes, equipment and manufacturing
- Lead lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste, cycle times and improve flow
- Develop and assist in the planning and implementation of new cell designs and facility layouts to improve process flow and eliminate waste
- Verify new product designs for manufacturability, tooling and documentation before activation to Production
- Document and maintain, processes, procedures, tools/equipment and routing standards through ECOs, ERP (SAP) and internal workflow processes
- Research and benchmark latest process and manufacturing technologies to continuously improve product quality and lower cost.
- Establish and maintain standard times by performing time studies and working with Manufacturing Development to develop the standards.
- Work with the Quality Department on Non-conforming Materials, Warranties and other Quality issues.
- Write ECOs and make and/or facilitate changes where applicable.
- Prepare capital expenditure authorization (CEA) requests as required.
- Work with TURCK Mexico on the transfers of Finished Goods
- Write and maintain procedures for assigned equipment.
- Test, install and facilitate the implementation of new equipment into Production.
What will you bring to the table?
- BS degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years of relevant engineering work experience
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills; familiarity of problem-solving tools (root cause, statistics, FMEA, Pareto)
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills: able to communicate complex technical information and collaborate across multiple functions.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects and troubleshooting problems.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to successfully perform within a project framework including defined deliverables and time frames

Preferred Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from ABET accredited school
- Experience as a manufacturing engineer, ideally in assembly of electro-mechanical products.
- Experience automating manual assembly processes
- Self-motivated and self-directed with high sense of urgency
- Seasoned experience practicing Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methods
- Experience with Design for Mfg & Assembly
- Capability to design assembly fixtures
- Experience working within a continuous improvement environment
- Injection molding experience
- Experience with two-part resins for shock, thermal and electrical performance
