Our government client is looking for an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect on an hybrid 6+ months renewable contract role in Indianapolis, IN.

Position: Cloud Solutions Architect

Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and delivering innovative cloud solutions, optimizing DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, and managing vendor collaborations. This role involves working closely with agency solution architects, developers, stakeholders, and Indiana Office of Technology architects on key projects, including HEARTS, EPP, and Gateway Cloud Migration. The candidate will also be responsible for securely setting up environments to meet FedRAMP or GovRAMP compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
•           Design, implement, and manage cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) with a focus on large-scale projects.
•           Architect and deploy scalable, secure cloud infrastructure.
•           Set up environments securely in compliance with FedRAMP or GovRAMP standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
•           Collaborate with software development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines using DevOps practices.
•           Lead the design and implementation of cloud solutions for complex projects, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
•           Oversee cloud migration projects, including the internal HEARTS, EPP, and Gateway Cloud Migration, in collaboration with vendors.
•           Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
•           Develop and enforce cloud governance frameworks to ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
•           Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
•           Implement security best practices and compliance measures in cloud systems.
•           Design disaster recovery strategies and backup systems to ensure business continuity.
•           Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on cloud and DevOps-related topics.
•           Manage vendor relationships to ensure seamless delivery and performance of cloud solutions.
•           Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance cloud solutions.
•           Oversee cloud cost optimization and budgeting to deliver efficient, cost-effective solutions.
•           Utilize monitoring and logging tools to track performance and detect potential issues early.
•           Collaborate with agency solution architects, developers, stakeholders, and Indiana Office of Technology architects to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Required/Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 10 years of Hands-on experience in cloud architecture and DevOps practices Required
  • 10 years of Exceptional expertise in Azure and AWS cloud environments and services, with demonstrated success in implementing large-scale projects Required
  • 10 years of Strong experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps Required
  • 10 years of Demonstrated success in delivering cloud solutions for complex and large-scale projects Required
  • 5 years of Experience in securely setting up cloud environments to meet FedRAMP or GovRAMP compliance standards Required
  • 5 years of Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Cloud Formation Required
  • 7 years of Strong understanding of networking, security, and database management in cloud environments Required
  • 7 years of Solid scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field Required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences Required
  • Effective interpersonal skills for working in cross-functional teams and interacting with stakeholders Required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address challenges and innovate within cloud environments Required
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Required
  • Exceptional ability to present solutions and align technology goals with business objectives Required
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Architect Expert Highly desired
  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes Highly desired
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices Highly desired
