SAS Viya Developer

Onsite- 5 days a week (Battle Creek, MI)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy analytical models and data pipelines using SAS Viya's tools, including SAS Visual Analytics, SAS Visual Statistics, and SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning.
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tasks to prepare data for analysis, ensuring data quality and governance.
  • Utilize both the programming interface (SAS, Python, R) and the low-code/no-code visual interfaces within SAS Viya to build and automate analytical workflows.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Design and create interactive dashboards and reports in SAS Visual Analytics to visualize data trends and communicate key findings to stakeholders.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot SAS Viya environments and deployed models to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest features and best practices of the SAS Viya platform and other related technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) working with the SAS Viya platform.
  • Strong programming skills in SAS, with a solid understanding of SAS Macro, PROC SQL, and the DATA Step.
  • Experience with open-source languages like Python or R for data analysis and model development.
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and experience with at least one major cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with container technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for deploying analytical applications.
  • SAS certification(s) related to SAS Viya.
