Immediate need for a talented Heirloom Engineer. This is a 06+ Months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in United State (Remote). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $80 - $90/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • no location constraints, prefer to be in EST time zone
  • Candidate needs to have at least 8+ years of software development experience.
  • Candidate should have completed a bachelor s degree in software engineering or related field.
  • Should possess end to end understanding of the Heirloom tool, its features and hands on development utilizing the tool for multiple mainframe modernizations.
  • Experience utilizing Heirloom for converting CICS screens, CICS back end transactions and IBM transaction gateway routing.
  • Good understanding of the input requirements for heirloom assessments and conversion and understanding of the compiled outputs from heirloom.
  • Experience deploying the heirloom converted applications and its dependencies, and configuring required parameters to access database (DB2 LUW on Linux) on on prem and AWS environments.
  • Ability to understand the compiled Java code and recommend how to implement external integrations like DB, external applications on Microfocus Cobol.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues in the converted Java application/code
  • Ability to suggest options to standardize converted code to adhere to spring boot framework would be good to have.
