Senior FP&A Analyst

Magnolia Talent is seeking a highly skilled FP&A with a strong background in accounting analysis and advanced Excel functions such as pivots, lookups, index match, indirect, and xlookup. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional attention to detail, thoroughness, and quick problem-solving abilities, along with a strong reconciliation mindset.

Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

• Conducting variance analysis, budget analysis, flux analysis, and P&L analysis in accounting aspects.
• Analyzing accounting activities including month-end closing data, cash flow, and revenue.
• Performing budget versus actual analysis and diving deep into accounting details.
• Creating and presenting cash flow reports.
• Forecasting quarterly financial performance and evaluating monthly results.
• Handling various reporting tasks such as audit reports (GAAP), reports to ownership, and MLS league reports, with an understanding of how they function.
• Building reports and financial models using Excel.

Requirements:

• 5 years of professional experience in the field.
• Experience in variance analysis, budget analysis, flux analysis, and P&L analysis in accounting aspects.
• Strong Excel skills and logical thinking abilities.
• Comfortable with manual tasks and navigating through different spreadsheets.
• Excellent business partnership and communication skills.
• Experience in accounting transitioning to financial analysis.
• A degree in accounting or a background in accounting.
• Ability to work independently without extensive supervision.
• Detail-oriented and thorough in analysis.
