Job Title: Project Estimator - Low Voltage, Security & Fire Systems (Hybrid Role)

Position Summary

We're looking for a highly skilled Project Estimator with expertise in low voltage systems, electronic security, and fire alarm installations. This hybrid role blends technical estimating with field coordination, supporting both preconstruction and operational teams to deliver accurate, competitive bids and scope clarity across multiple verticals.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Technical Scoping

  • Review architectural drawings, electrical plans, and specifications to develop detailed estimates for:
    • Structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber)
    • CCTV, access control, intrusion detection
    • Fire alarm systems (NFPA-compliant)
    • AV and paging systems (as applicable)
  • Conduct site walks and collaborate with PMs, engineers, and field supervisors to validate scope
  • Prepare BOMs, labor projections, and cost breakdowns using estimating software
  • Interface with vendors and subcontractors for pricing and availability
  • Assist in proposal development and client presentations

Project Support & Coordination

  • Work with operations to ensure scope alignment and handoff accuracy
  • Support change order pricing and scope revisions during project lifecycle
  • Track market pricing trends and labor rates to maintain competitive edge
  • Provide technical input during bid reviews and kickoff meetings

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience estimating low voltage, security, and/or fire alarm systems
  • Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 72, and local building codes
  • Familiarity with platforms like Genetec, Lenel, Axis, Bosch, Honeywell, Silent Knight, etc.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Excel, and estimating tools (e.g., Accubid, Esticom)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for site visits

Preferred Skills

  • NICET Level I or II (Fire Alarm)
  • BICSI or equivalent low voltage certification
  • Experience with design-build and negotiated bid environments
  • Spanish fluency is a plus

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
