Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Riverwoods, IL / Remote
Duration: 3+ Months Contract
Job Description:
Design, deploy and optimize LAN/Data Center/ Cisco ACI fabrics to support scalable high performance DC operations.
Tests, analyzes, performs corrective actions, and restores network equipment and services in a timely and accurate manner to eliminate/reduce application impact. Collaborate with various internal stakeholders to stabilize critical network outages.
Plan, Lead low level design and implement of data center network changes, keeping infrastructure compliant with the latest codes, scaling up/scaling horizontally to meet growing business needs.
Highest level of escalation for any Network engineering troubleshooting. Performs Proof of Concepts, Chaos testing, and creates, maintains, updates support documentation for operations team.
Collaborate with architects, operations, security teams to ensure high availability and redundancy, DR, and compliance with financial industry standards.
Develop scripts to implement network policies, interface polices, VRFs, EPGs, bridge domains to support Cisco ACI/SDN deployments.
Uses automation, system tools, open-source solutions, observability and 'security first' principles in daily work.
Design Network architecture diagrams using Visio, LucidCharts. Deliver project presentations to help operations team upskilling. Lab recreations using Cisco Modelling Labs, VIRL, GNS3 etc.
Initiates high level solution design approaches, and guides team to achieve desired key software delivery capabilities using automated, coded enterprise and observability.
Research emerging technologies and solutions to resolve business problems and evangelize the new solution to make it to production.
Continues professional education, training and certification to creates opportunities for innovation.
At a minimum, here s what we need from you:
Bachelors/Master s Computer Science or Network Engineering or related.
5+ Years (Network/Data Center) Engineering, DevOps or related.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong appetite to continuous learning and professional development.
Strong experience in Cisco Catalyst/Nexus Datacenter Concepts / Platforms including 2k, 9k.
Strong and independent working knowledge and experience with routing protocols OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP etc.
Strong and independent working knowledge and experience with Spanning-Tree, HSRP, VRRP, tunneling protocols, spine-leaf architecture, and Cisco ACI.
Experience with QoS operation and configuration.
Basic understanding of routing & Switching, IP/IPv6, TCP/UDP, DNS, DHCP, Load Balancer services in DC.
Understanding of Security devices like PaloAlto NGFWs and Cisco PIX.
Experience deploying and troubleshooting Datacenter technologies: FEX, VDC, VPC, VRF, VXLAN, EVPN.
Lead network automation initiatives for large scale deployment and Validations.
Experience in Scripting in Ansible, Python using netmiko/NAPALM/paramiko, VS Code, REST APIs and Postman.
Experience with Arista Switches, CloudVision, AVDs is desirable.
Experience with compliance working with change control processes and adherence to standards.
Experience and independent with managing moderate to complex network projects (planning, organizing and managing timelines / objectives).
Strong verbal, written and documentation skills #LI-BG1 #Remote.
Bonus Points If You Have:
CCNP Certification.
CCIE Certification.
Any Arista ACE Certification between L2 and L5.
