Job Title: Quality Assurance (QA) / Test Engineer

Duration: 06 Months

Client: Virginia Information Technology Agency

Location: Richmond, VA

Notes: This is a hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute detailed smoke test cases and UAT scripts based on system requirements and specifications.
• Validate OCR performance including accuracy, edge case behavior, and error handling.
• Ensure all functional and non-functional requirements are met before system delivery.
• Document test results, track software defects, and work closely with developers and business analysts to ensure timely resolution.
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality risks.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and tools.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in QA/testing roles, preferably in enterprise software or document processing systems.
• Hands-on experience with OCR technologies and related performance validation.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Proven experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with automated testing tools or scripting is a plus.
• Familiarity with document management systems or content services platforms.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements such as FedRAMP or state-level IT standards.
