Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Sales and Relationship Development:
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned healthcare organizations, including hospitals, physician groups, behavioral health providers, long-term care facilities, and public health entities.
  • Identify and pursue new engagement opportunities across Kentucky to expand KHIE's footprint and participation.
  • Present KHIE solutions in a compelling and consultative manner that aligns with each organization's clinical, operational, and compliance goals.
  • Lead outreach strategies that result in executed participation agreements and active utilization of KHIE services.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of prospects, stakeholders in implementation, and active participants, using CRM tools to track engagement progress.
Stakeholder Engagement and Retention:
  • Develop and nurture executive-level relationships to ensure ongoing alignment with participant needs and strategic priorities.
  • Proactively resolve stakeholder concerns, serving as a key point of escalation and ensuring continuous satisfaction with KHIE services.
  • Host educational briefings, product demonstrations, and user engagement sessions tailored to varying stakeholder roles (C-suite, clinical, IT).
Strategic Communication and Cross-Functional Support:
  • Coordinate with KHIE technical, onboarding, and support teams to ensure a seamless and positive experience from engagement through implementation.
  • Act as the voice of the customer internally-communicating participant feedback and emerging market needs to influence KHIE service development.
  • Stay current on relevant Kentucky health initiatives, policy changes, interoperability trends, and federal program incentives that impact participants.
Metrics, Reporting and Continuous Improvement:
  • Monitor outreach and engagement KPIs, including participation growth, stakeholder satisfaction, and service adoption.
  • Produce regular reports and presentations highlighting outreach efforts, market coverage, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to outreach strategies based on stakeholder trends, data insights, and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, marketing, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, provider outreach, business development, or account management in the healthcare sector.
  • Proven success in building executive relationships, managing client pipelines, and meeting outreach or sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare delivery system in Kentucky, including hospitals, practices, Medicaid, and public health infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of health IT systems, electronic health records (EHRs), and data exchange standards preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting with regular in-state travel (valid driver's license required).
Preferred Attributes:
  • Background in healthcare consulting, HIE/vendor sales, or health technology solutions.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance frameworks, including HIPAA and interoperability mandates.
  • A strategic thinker with a mission-driven approach and an ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
Working Conditions:
  • This role involves frequent travel across Kentucky to meet with stakeholders and attend regional events.
  • Remote work is supported, but face-to-face engagement is essential.
