From troubleshooting to fixing bugs, you use your operations and maintenance skills to ensure that things run smoothly. We're looking for an experienced software sustainment engineer to apply your knowledge to our clients' challenges and their legacy enterprise systems. As a software sustainment engineer, you'll have an operational impact from day one.
Responsibilities
- Provide essential software support for laptops, desktops, system storage, and servers including hardware device configuration, testing new software and designing the structure of the network.
- Monitor and develop system configuration within a mixed release Windows environment, Linux environment, and containerized environment utilizing puppet, ansible, Kubernetes and other tools.
- Review logs and output for server errors, Java errors, Ruby errors and Python errors
- Review, modify & create PowerShell, bash, and shell scripting
- Utilize Docker/Podman or similar containerization platforms
- Providing software support for end users devices, including laptops and desktops, system storage, and servers. Maintain applications and keep systems working
- Provide configuration and testing of hardware devices and testing new software
- Utilize programming and scripting languages in order to continuously enhance and maintain applications
- Test & troubleshoot any issues that arise, and upgrade the systems to meet security requirements
- Advise clients on the best ways to improve and modernize existing systems
- Work to help secure crucial systems while watching them grow and modernize
Qualifications
- Current TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering and 5+ years of relevant software support experience
- 5+ years of experience proving configuration and testing of hardware devices and testing new software
- Experience designing network structure and system configuration in a mixed environment, such as Windows or Linux
- Experience using containerization platforms such as Docker or Podman
- Experience utilizing CI/CD orchestration tools, such as Puppet, Ansible, or Kubernetes
- Ability to review logs outputs to identify server and software errors
- Ability to review, modify and create scripts within shell scripting, such as Powershell and Bash
- Experience with Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS)
