Job Title: Image Sensor Characterization Engineer IV
Duration: 12 months
Location: Redmond, WA, 98052
Summary:

  • Client Cameras & Sensors group is looking for an experienced image sensor characterization engineer to support the test of next generation image sensors. Image Sensor Characterization & Validation team at Reality Labs. Exciting opportunities to work on cutting-edge VR/AR products for next-generation computing platform.

Top 3 must-have HARD skills:

  • knowledge and experience with CMOS image sensor or other semiconductor devices
  • experience working in opto-electronic lab
  • programming experience with MATLAB, Python

Good to have skills:

  • 3+ years of industry experience in image sensor characterization
  • experience with opto-electrical or opto-mechanical test development.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing image sensor characterization test following standard testing flow
  • Create, maintain, and operate opto-electronic test benches based on different use case requirements
  • Develop automation test scripts using Python, MATLAB, or C/C++
  • Be able to work in an opto-electronic lab environment
  • Responsible for data collection, data analysis, and test report preparation
  • Responsible for sensor debugging, root cause analysis, and problem solving.

Minimum Qualification:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related discipline
  • Experience working in an electro-optical laboratory environment
  • Ability to use MATLAB to analyze and present characterization data
  • Programming experience with coding languages of Python and MATLAB
  • Knowledge of device physics, statistic data analysis and knowledge with imaging process.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Masters/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of industry experience in image sensor characterization.

Typical Day in the Role:

  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional groups to select image sensors for next-generations VR/AR products
  • Conduct image acquisition in opto-electronic lab to collect sensor data at various conditions
  • Analyze image data to characterize sensor performance to identify potential issues
  • Work with vendors to debug issues and optimize sensor performance
  • Prepare characterization report and make presentations to cross-functional teams
