Role: Sr. Platform Automation / Python Engineer
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 12+ Months (High Possible Extension)

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Sr. Platform Automation Engineer with strong Python expertise to support the migration of Teradata on-prem platforms to Snowflake on AWS. This role is part of the Data Ecosystem team and will focus heavily on automation, Python scripting, API integrations, and cloud enablement.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Teradata and Snowflake platforms within the data ecosystem.

  • Support migration efforts from Teradata (on-prem) to Snowflake (AWS).

  • Build large-scale automation solutions using Python.

  • Work extensively with APIs for integration and automation tasks.

  • Utilize AWS services; prior AWS experience is a major plus (client can ramp up the right candidate).

  • Support CI/CD pipelines and automation processes.

  • Write and optimize SQL queries; experience with SQL packages is a strong advantage.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure platform stability, performance, and scalability.

  • Contribute to design, scripting, testing, and operational readiness.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of applied software engineering experience.

  • Strong hands-on experience in Python scripting and automation.

  • Experience with Snowflake architecture, features, data loading/unloading, transformations, and performance optimization.

  • Proficient in AWS and Python libraries such as boto3, pandas, and sqlalchemy.

  • Strong SQL skills (complex queries, joins, window functions, data modeling).

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and application resiliency/security practices.

  • Experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability.

  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, IAM, Glue.

  • Experience working with cloud, automation, or data engineering environments.

  • Knowledge of financial services industry IT systems is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.

  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts and frameworks.

  • Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, and version control workflows.

  • Ability to document processes and train team members.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with focus on performance optimization.
