Worldwide Technology is looking for a Microsoft EOL Resource. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Title: Microsoft EOL Resource
Location: Remote Work
Duration/Type of Job: 6+ months
Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $40 to $60 hourly (Rate range is on C2C basis). Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.
Responsibilities:
Valmont is seeking qualified contractor resources to assist with Microsoft End-of-Life (EOL) activities. This includes upgrading Windows Server environments, patching VMware ESXi hosts, and updating PC systems including operating systems and Microsoft Office installations. Two contractor positions are required to support these efforts across our enterprise infrastructure.
Objectives
The primary objectives of this RFQ are to secure two experienced IT contractors who can:
- - Upgrade Windows Server 2016 to newer supported versions.
- - Apply security and firmware patches to VMware ESXi hosts.
- - Update PC systems including OS and Microsoft Office.
- - Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures.
- - Collaborate with internal teams and provide post-upgrade support.
Scope of Work
The contractors will be responsible for performing the following tasks:
- - Assess system compatibility and plan upgrade paths.
- - Perform backups and validate systems before and after upgrades.
- - Troubleshoot issues during and after upgrade processes.
- - Apply ESXi patches using vSphere Lifecycle Manager or CLI tools.
- - Perform host reboots and VM migrations with minimal downtime.
- - Update PC operating systems and Microsoft Office installations.
- - Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies and security standards.
Qualifications
- - Minimum 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure roles.
- - Hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016 and newer versions.
- - Familiarity with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi patching.
- - Experience with PC OS and Microsoft Office upgrades.
- - Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE or VCP are preferred.
- - Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- - Ability to work independently and during off-hours.
