Job Description:

Position: Senior Manual QA Tester

Location: Charlotte, NC
  • 4x/week onsite

Contract Length: 6+ months

Top Requirements:
  • Test management tool and test case writing experience
  • Full testing life cycle experience
  • Get requirements (typically JIRA), write test plan, test cases, execute test cases manually and report on that
  • Triage for defects
  • Testing interaction of multiple applications
  • Web services (API) testing
  • SQL (basic querying capability)
  • DB experience

  • Test everything manually, when code is stable, we flag it and move to automation possibly
    Day to Day Responsibilities/project specifics: This group support several integration engines and is responsible for end-to-end integration testing to ensure the frontend UI connects appropriately to backend systems. The group focuses on ordering and billing-type end-to-end testing. For example, ensuring their customer facing web portal flows correctly to their back-end billing systems. The team utilizes Octane for test management planning, including writing test cases and tracking. Their defect management system is in JIRA, so working knowledge of JIRA is a plus. Their automation tool has been developed in house and is Java/Selenium based. The team is seeking someone with full testing life cycle experience, including gathering requirements (in JIRA), writing test plans, test cases, executing manual cases and reporting appropriately. This person should understand how systems interact and integrate together to be able to triage, understand bugs and help pin point their cause. This person should be comfortable with testing multiple applications and how they interact.
