Job Description:
A government agency is seeking an experienced Geospatial Data Structure Specialist to support the development and implementation of an online permitting and address-management platform. The specialist will analyze, integrate, design, test, and deploy modern GIS-enabled workflows that replace legacy permitting and mapping systems.
Key Responsibilities:
< data-start="617" data-end="654">GIS Mapping & Infrastructure</>Provide expertise in GIS tools, mapping workflows, and infrastructure to support modernized permitting operations.
Develop and maintain GIS-based building layers, especially for retrofit and inspection programs.
Automate geospatial data workflows using GIS tools to eliminate manual processes.
Configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain GIS map services for internal applications.
Build Python scripts to automate geospatial data processing, editing, validation, and quality control.
Perform spatial and attribute queries for reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
Use Python, ArcGIS, SQL/PL-SQL to maintain and improve data integrity across geospatial datasets.
Manage and optimize building footprint feature classes and related GIS services.
Collect, analyze, and report on geospatial data usage to support system improvements.
Collaborate with external consultants to align geospatial data with business systems and configure GIS/web server environments.
Required Skills & Experience:
< data-start="2045" data-end="2077">GIS & Mapping Expertise</>Strong experience with ESRI ArcGIS 10.x and related tools for creating, editing, and managing geospatial data.
Solid understanding of geospatial principles, symbology, data modeling, and enterprise GIS standards.
Hands-on experience using Python and SQL for automated workflows and data quality checks.
Skilled in data loading, conversion, troubleshooting, and maintaining metadata for enterprise GIS systems.
ESRI (ArcGIS, ArcView, ArcEdit, ArcInfo), Python, SQL, PL/SQL.
Ability to interpret civil, architectural, or electronic engineering drawings for geospatial integration.
Experience with GIS and web server setup, configuration, and integration with mapping/reporting apps.
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
Preferred Experience:
Prior work with government agencies
Prior GIS analysis or GIS-related data analysis projects
Experience with mapping software in an enterprise environment
