The Manager, Engineering Controls Group role is a pivotal multi-site role responsible for plant process control systems and networks to ensure operation,
reliability, and continuous improvement for production and related site activities. This role will be critical in guiding the controls engineering team through technically complex projects and ensuring delivery of innovative solutions Responsibility includes troubleshooting electrical and
controls-related issues, engage in control system software changes and upgrades, participate in capital project implementations, and support
plant and divisional initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
Manager the Engineering Controls group in providing PLC, HMI expertise to our AR BMM and Wheel rebuild programs
Manage, develop, and implement new capital projects and execute EIC projects-including design, procurement, construction,
commissioning, qualification, and startup in support of the AR BMM and wheel build programs.
Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting control system failures and identifying solutions, while educating peers and maintenance
staff.
Work with engineering, maintenance, and operations to make necessary changes to equipment for process improvements, system
upgrades, preventative procedures, product changes, and new product launches.
Improve equipment uptime and contribute to plant reliability efforts.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and implement standards to maintain the controls architecture and integrity.
Provide engineering technical support to maintenance and plant operations to deliver performance, safety, and quality improvements-as
well as cost-savings initiatives.
Provide leadership and supervision to engineering firms, construction contractors, and equipment vendors.
Share technical expertise to build controls knowledge and capability within the equipment maintenance team.
Will provide project management and engineering support for CAPEX projects of varying magnitude from routine parts replacement to
large scale plant expansions.
Must be able to meet with internal customers and lead projects through all stages of development including initial conceptualization, cost
estimating and timeline development, equipment procurement and installation, start-up and debug of equipment.
Manage vendors to provide services ensuring that plant standards and best practices are followed.
Be the internal subject matter resource for all electrical systems including PLC, HMI, drives, motors, equipment troubleshooting, system integration, sensors, electro-mechanical devices, robotics, and instrumentation.
Be able to interface with and train maintenance electricians and electronic technicians to successfully install, maintain the various projects and lead the
troubleshooting efforts.
Provide input for the plant controls strategy to establish and maintain plant standards.
Make recommendations for improving function and reliability of control and power systems
Develop process and equipment understanding to support continuous improvement efforts
Appropriately develop, maintain and document equipment and control systems changes
Maintain records as required. (Project plans, schematics, drawings, spare parts, calibration logs, repair logs, etc.).

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET).
10+ years of relevant industrial controls experience (engineering, maintenance, project management, plant operations).
10+ years Engineering or operations experience with plastics/packaging industry equipment and systems
Demonstrated technical understanding of power distribution systems and Arc Flash compliance within a manufacturing or production
facility.
Effective interpersonal skills, motivation, and commitment to lead and direct others to deliver results
Experience solving problems with electrical circuits and instrumentation.
Proficiency with schematics and wiring diagrams.
Knowledge & Skills:
Working knowledge of data collection systems
Strong working knowledge of PLC and controls products (e.g. ControlLogix, InTouch HMI, PanelView, Factory Talk, Asset Centre, VFDs)
Strong working knowledge of industrial controls networks (e.g. Ethernet IP)
Strong working knowledge of process instrumentation.
Working knowledge of OT (Operational Technology) systems and hardware.
Ability to develop, read, and interpret P&IDs and electrical drawings is preferred.
Working knowledge of industrial power and lighting applications, electrical safety, and power distribution.
Knowledge of various Industrial and Electrical standards such as NEC, NFPA, OSHA, ANSI, etc.
Experience with flow, pressure, temperature, level, pH, and other process instrumentation installation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement & 5S Methodology.
Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening) Ability to adjust communication style to multiple audiences, facilitate group
coaching, and information sharing ability to positively confront and effectively deal with noncompliance through effective soft Skills.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and ability to empower people, specifically mentoring and coaching individuals in identifying short and
long-term development needs and providing appropriate support.
Ability to build personal relationships based on trust, mutual respect and open communication.
