Job Title: Azure Data Analyst

Location: Hybrid - Seattle, WA

Employment Type: Contract


Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Analyst to design, develop, and manage data analytics solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of Azure data services, and the ability to transform raw data into actionable business insights.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Synapse Analytics.

  • Develop and manage Power BI dashboards and reports for data visualization and business intelligence.

  • Work with Azure SQL Database, Data Lake, and Databricks to manage and analyze structured and unstructured data.

  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, and modeling to ensure high data quality and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting needs.

  • Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency in Azure.

  • Implement data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot Azure data services and analytics environments.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics or BI, with at least 3 years on Microsoft Azure.

  • Strong experience with:

    • Azure Data Factory (ADF)

    • Azure Synapse Analytics / SQL Data Warehouse

    • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)

    • Power BI

    • Azure SQL / Databricks / PySpark (optional)

  • Proficiency in SQL, DAX, and data modeling.

  • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data integration.

  • Experience in performance tuning and cost optimization within Azure environments.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI) or Azure Data Engineer Associate.

  • Experience with Python, R, or machine learning pipelines.

  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD in Azure environments.
